some lovely friends of ours are thinking of going out to NZ for just a year or so, to work and to give themselves and their 3 young kids an adventure. my friend is assured of a good job offer apparently, so getting a work visa and starting work, and paying taxes, won't be a problem.

does anyone know how easy it will be for them to get state school places for the children for just one year? would they have to consider fee-paying schools instead? they will be approx 9, 7 and 4.

any advice/know-how would be greatly appreciated.
