Anyone know what it's like round Turua? Is the single lane bridge jammed up at peak times? Driving times from Thames? Any info. about Thames itself? Possible interview coming up for job based in Turua so any comments welcomed as can't find much via Google!
Many thanks.

Turua is tiny mate. Blink and miss it. It is a very small rural town on the outskirts of Ngatea, a mainly farming community I believe. It would probably take no more then 15 to 20 mins to get to Thames, unless the kopu bridge is busy (holiday periods) or is being repaired. We have been promised a new bridge some time this century.
I have heard of people waiting for up to 2 hours to get accross at xmas time.
Thames itself has its attractions, although it is mainly a service town for the surrounding Hauraki plains farms etc, and a stock up point for visitors heading up our way to the Coromandel. Not much in the way of beaches really, mostly mudflats and rocky outcrops, but Thames does have most facilities one could want.
