Happy Days - I have a Video Conferece interview next week with a firm in Wellington !:clap
Thing is I haven't a clue about how to set it up.
Is Skype sufficient ? Does what technology you have on your end need to match what they have ? What would the issues be ?
thanks for your thoughts

OH was interviewed this way and we didn't do it through skype mainly cos our broadband connection here is rubbish!! He contacted a few hotels that had the facilities and then passed on to employer in NZ and they set it up their end. They needed to book the timeslot through their provider too. It was quite expensive (employers did pay) though but very reliable. Don't know if that 's any help??
Good luck with the interview!!

Hi
I had a video interview, the company set it up at a local college and just emailed me the details of when to turn up, it tends to be around 9:30pm to 10:30pm.
Good luck

I had an interview this way about four weeks ago, and although Skype had worked fine for video and audio to talk with my kids while I was in Germany at the beginning of September, there were obvious bandwidth issues at some point in the chain between me in the UK and them in NZ, so we ended up using Skype only for the video (as they had that set up on their computer), and telephone for the audio.
When it was all over (after about 90 minutes) I found it really hard to straighten my arm to put the phone down. :-)

I agree I have used skype and normal telephone, make sure you have a good amount of light near your face and no windows behind. Be concious of looking into the camera as that will be them (eye contact). I would practice at home with OH looking at image and you not being able to see the monitor.
don't forget at least a 5-10 good quesitons and make a point of ticking off the ones they have covered when htye ask if you have any quesitons.
At least if you do it the skype conection if if gets a bad connection they will just use the telephone in the end, much easier.
Good luck

Greg did a video conference interview before we left New York and they made all the arrangements. They sent him an e-mail where to be and what time.
Good luck!
