One week until the removals men arrive and pack our house into a container. Then another week until the flights. It now seems further away than ever, as do the last 8 days at work seem neverending. Any tips on how to help things along a bit?
Cheers,
Ant

Hi Ant,
I'm rather surprised by your post, aren't you insanely busy ??? I can remember the last couple of weeks going by in a complete daze as there was soooo much to organise and remember, you really must be incredibly organised :nice1 !!
Hmmmm, tips, that's a difficult one. Have you said all your goodbyes yet ? What about some trips down memory lane, visiting places that have meant a lot to you in your life or visiting with people you haven't seen for a while ?
Also if you have time on your hands, I read this great idea in a post once about creating a booklet containing all the reasons why you want to go to NZ. Apparently it can provide a lot of comfort when faced with homesickness ?
Personally we're not prone to homesickness and haven't suffered from it at all (we feel more at home here than where we came from ;)), but I could imagine that this would be an excellent thing to take to hand if you do, reminding yourself of all the reasons why you wanted to be here. Not sure if it's relevant to you, but thought it was an excellent suggestion when I read it and it might help pass the time ?
Other than that I'm afraid I can't really say. As I mentioned, for us the last couple of weeks were so hectic that we were wishing for 48 hour days  !
Good luck and enjoy !

Don't forget cancelling child benefit, child tax credits, memberships to any organisations, check all your standing orders and direct payments and cancel them, subscriptions to magazines, cleaning house, weighing suitcases, repacking suitcases, coping with people crying all over you, coping with you crying all over others...

Removals men are doing all the packing, so its just a case of junking all the rubbish (about 3 skip loads so far!). Most of the other stuff is in hand - the only thing I was panicking over was selling my car, but this went this week, so thats gone.
All the stuff thats left to do isn't helping the time go - its just making it worse! Not having enough hours to get things sorted leads to stress, which makes the minutes & hours longer, as does laying awake at night compiling mental lists of things to get done!
Holland - where are you off to?

We are flying to Auckland...staying there for a week and then hoping to head to Hawkes Bay ! Panicking slightly about the whole thing, I know how you feel!!
