Hi,
I would like to apply under the Entrepreneur category. I am not intending to leave Europe for good, but rather I would like to make shure that I have permanent residence in NZ, have a second business operating there and who knows - if everything goes wrong here in Europe I might end up going there for good...My plan is to buy 51% shares of a business that I know fairly well. Thus I should be able to meet all teh requirements I've read so far. My biggest question is: What exactly does it mean "you have been “self-employed” in New Zealand in that business for at least two years" (http://http://www.immigration.govt.nz/branch/BMBHome/entrepreneur/default.htm) - I see no problem with earning enough money in that business so that my family can easily live on it, but how much time would I have to spend in NZ during those 2 years? What about my children? Would they have to be with me, or could I start the business by myself, and move teh children only once I have the RP Could I do a lot of my work in this company - which will be mainly developing strategies and general management work - from overseas? Are there any guidelines? Does anyone have experence in this kind of thing? (I cannot apply under the investment category because the 2millionNZ$ investment for 5 years is too much for me:wah )
