Wow!!!
Just got a call from NZIS in London. I haven't heard a dickie bird from them since I put my application in and because of the post strikes I wasn't expecting anything for another couple of weeks.
Just to give you the background, I am going through a partnership visa and submitted back at the start of September. My OH and I have been together for 3 years but only living together since December last year. I was a bit worried when I spoke to the case worker as she started asking me when I was looking to depart for NZ - we have booked our flights to depart on 5th February. She then started mumbling that she would have a problem approving it for then (at which point I started to panic :uhoh ) but then she realised I said February and not January. "No problem then. We'll approve the visas as long as you send me 1 piece of proof that you are still living together on December 1st. Then you can come in, get the stickers and that's that"..."So its all fine? I'll get a visa?", I said..."Absolutely", she said.
I can't tell you how chuffed I am and how much of a huge weight has just been lifted off my chest. Now I can really look forward to our trip through Dubai, Thailand, Sydney and Auckland and count down the 112 days I have left at work!!
So...do I get bananas now or on December 1st?
