Now, I fully realise this is a numpty question :roll , but how do you know when you have been assigned a case officer?

I submitted my ITA to NZIS/London branch 19 April 2006, rec'd a letter from my assigned case officer dated 7 June 2006 (about 7 weeks later).

He asked me to submit a few other documents at that time, which I did, and when I emailed him for an update 8-10 wks later after a long period of no communication, it bounced back saying he was no longer with NZIS.

Somehow I managed to contact NZIS (I believed I phoned) to ask them about the status of my ITA since the original case officer was no longer there (this would've been about 4 months after submitting my ITA). They got on it quick, reassigned another case officer who was amazing and efficiently moved my application right along without any further delay.

I haven't been following your story too closely, but it seems if you submitted your ITA to London in August, that you're still within the time frame of an acceptable wait period (unless they've been moving things thru a whole lot more quickly than they were in 2006 when I applied).

Got an email from ours - that was our first contact.

Mind you, that was 2 years ago now, so maybe things have changed.

I know it's still within the timeframe but I want to make sure I haven't missed anything - especially with the postal strikes. And it's been a long time since I was followed by a strange man (ended up marrying him so let that be a warning to you all) but the cat is looking at me strangely...do you think he knows something I don't know???

It's not a numpty question at all IMHO. We have just been given PR and to my knowledge have not been assigned a CO.. We have had 3-4 emails from 3- 4 different people none of which stated that they were our CO. It was only when we had an email stating that we had an interview I thought that this was the co...
