Has anyone else felt like this?

We plan to emigrate to NZ next September. Until recently we were just talking and planning with not much else to do. I have since sent off my nursing registration and have been offered a job in Christchurch Hopsital which will be held until we arrive next year. I can't submit our EOI until after Christmas as I need my boys passports and I won't apply for them until my eldest is 16 in December (that way he will have a 10 year passport instead of a 5 year one). So now we are just waiting.

I want to be doing something, applying for things, getting the ball rolling etc... but can't. We are in limbo. Now this 'delay' is causing me to rethink our situation. Do I really want to drag half my family to the other side of the world or would we be better off staying here where we both have good jobs, a house that will soon be paid for and family & friends? The mere thought of packing the house up and transporting the dogs is giving me the 'heebee jeebies'.

I feel in such limbo - any suggestions???:wah

Well with xmas not far off may help with a distraction. I wonder if starting to collect your life history documents might be a nice time filler. If you wander through some of the previous posts you'll get an idea of the things that NZIS will eventually require. Things like making sure you have the right birth cetificates, school records, proof of employment, qualifications, proof of relationship (having had the kids isn't proof!) etc etc. I did this while OH was in NZ on reccie & I'm glad I did because (a) it really did take a time & (b) it was all there ready for when we moved over. Good luck.

If it's any consolation - there's an awful lot of limbo-ing along the way even when you submit your EOI. From what others have replied to me, doubting the move is also not uncommon. It really is like a rollercoaster - best not get off unless it stops eh?

I would submit your EOI with your boy's current passports. You can update the details at a later date. We submitted ours with both our two youngest ones with no passport, didn't have any trouble in getting to the ITA stage, then PR :) Once we got the passports sorted we updated the details for the ITA.

Just go for it, don't think about it :nice1

I imagine that most people here on this forum have visited limbo-land on more than one occasion during their emigration adventures. You want to be doing something but don't know what, want to plan for a new life in NZ yet are quite enjoying the life you currently lead, etc etc. Oh yes, it's all very familiar. Hang on in there though, do all the practical stuff that you can and enjoy every minute with family and friends.

Hi nick. I, too, have sent my registration last month but through an agency here in the philippines. I have been through that experience lots of times but what I do is to keep myself occupied with things like sports or movies. Good luck on your moving to NZ.

Thanksfor all the support - I thought it might be pretty common.

My boys don't have passports at the moment which is why I am waiting.

On the EOI they ask for the passport numbers for proof of identity - can it be submitted without?
