can anyone recommend a good hotel in greymouth please? Ideal somewhere near the town centre/railway station, thanks! :D

I crashed a camper van into a shop in Greymouth last year. Put a big hole in the roof. It was raining that day too (of course).

Sorry, nothing to do with hotels, just brought back the memory. Got a speeding ticket the next day coming out of Hokitika.

We stayed at the Top10 campsite there, which was quite nice (and cheap) but probably a little too far out of the town.

sorry Sophia, I don`t know about Greymouth, but we stayed at the backpacker in Punakaiki and it was brilliant. It is probably too far out for you ?Laura

yes too far out laura but thanks for help ;)

I brought a return train ticket of tranzalpine with my sister for our grandma for her birthday and my mum and MIL also brought tickets to travel with her.
With my grandma couldn't walk far, the hotel need to be between railway and town centre of greymouth. They want to stay in a nice hotel for a night, not motel etc :o

Looks nice, and not a sign of a campervan embedded into any of the walls :)

It's a bit out of the way, but maybe taxi-able. One of my favourite hotels -
(formerly) The Blackball Hilton (http://www.blackballhilton.co.nz).

a lovely old hotel full of character (and characters).
