Hi,

my husband is about to get various documents certified so he can apply for his NZ nursing registration. When you have to send all the docs in with the ITA is it originals or certified copies? just want to make sure we get everything done at once.

Thanks

As I understand it you need certified copies for professional registration.

For the ITA you can either send certified copies or take the pack in person with the originals and uncertified copies and the NZIS staff member who accepts the pack will check the copies against the originals there and then and return the originals and keep the copies.

Hope you can understand that.

We live on the North Shore which is the other side of the bridge going North. (Forgive me if you already know here the North shore is)
My OH works in the City and we find it relaxing compared to LOndon and other big cities in the UK. I feel very safe and there is lots to do.

NZ is Fab on certain days. Depends if I am having a good day or bad as I am having awful homesickness but there are guys on here helping me loads.

Newkiwis

We are moving out to Auckland at the end of the month - arrive 2nd November to be exact.

Any top tips for Auckland when we first arrive?
Also would be good to hear any advice on the North Shore as we've been looking to move there to start with.

Thanks
Andy & Mel

Hi hoffenberg and Andy&Mel

Yes it snows in NZ. It snows mainly in the South Island and also Mt Ruapehu (or something like that) which is in The North Island But down South by Taupa, the one that has just errupted !! has snow.

Am 99.9999% sure you cannot take copies and then have them certified. You have to have the original when you take it to the solicitor or who ever. I did send the origanls a couple of times to the agancy in London by registered post and they certified them and then sent them back registered. They then put it on the bill at the end. We used an agency as I could not cope with all the paperwork alone.

Andy&Mel.

We rented an appartment in the city for 4 weeks and some from the UK and then started to look to rent. We knew where we wanted to live as we had been on hols the year before and my OH grew up here. We found our house in 2 weeks and moved in on July 14th. We did not pay the higher rate for the appartment either as it was cheaper for 4 weeks and over, they charged us at the lower rate.

The North Shore is bigger than you think so if you have jobs make sure you buy in the right area. As it is my OH is working in the CBD so he is the wrong side of the bridge. Means if we had bought, he would have to put up with the journey every day or we move and I travel or we buy somewhere in the middle but would not be on the NorthShore.
Talk to the Estae Agent once you get a good repore with one and they will tell you where NOT to live.

Hope that helps, I do waffle..
