Ok I have a critical question on NZ, relating to my dogs.
They're getting anxious because I don't know the answer.
are there squirrels in New Zealand? especially the kind with the big fluffy tails (those are their favorites)?
thanks

Nope, no squirrels.
The only rodent type critters in New Zealand are the ones that were introduced - and which DOC is doing its best to eliminate. We have rats, rabbits, hares, stoats, weasels - oh and possums of course

I think your dogs will like possums a lot, they may turn out to be a compensation for the lack of squirrels.

oh no!! no squirrels!
I'm not sure how I'm going to break this news to them. I wonder how long it'll take them to get out of the habit of looking up at every tree to see if one is up there.
maybe possums will be enough, I guess we'll see.
thanks!

Believe me, possums are a very fair trade... dogs love them! :)
