Hi Guys

Think I put this is the wrong thread last time? :o New to this....sorry!

Having received email confirmation from the NZ Nursing Council that my LD qualification was accepted there, I dutifully sent all my docs off. I think they're just waiting on my references before processing the application?

I'm registered with an agency in NZ who seem keen to progress with job hunting.

I seem to score 135 on the EOI but this is assuming that my qualification meets the requirements for the absolute skills shortage list. Nurses are listed but not LD specific.

This is also so for the work experience, of which I have 11 years. Although this asks if my experience was gained in a comparable labour market or an area of absolute skills shortage.

Has anyone out there gone through this process? Any info/advice would be gratefully received.

Thanx
Sue

If the nursing council are happy with your qualifications, I'm sure NZIS will be. UK is a comparable labour market and nurses are on the skills shortage list so you'll be fine, go ahead and claim those points. I don't think they list all the different nursing qualifications as there are so many variations, I just specified what I actually had in the EOI.
good luck

:cheers Snailandthewhale....

They do seem to do things differently over there! I noticed on the application form that the 'scope of practice' says registered nurse for all then just has conditions such as 'may practice only in settings which provide services for....'

Thanx heaps for the reassurance and confidence boost!

Sue
