mmmmmm, I was debating whether or not to send mine off, as we fly in just over 4 weeks...may wait until I get to NZ, as it may get confusing!!

Sent mine off on Sept. 21, they arrived September 24 and I received no word, so I rang NZQA and have now been told my application is in the final stages, but they still never contacted me. I have now been informed my evaluator works only part-time, 8 hours a week total! I was told to call back on a day she was in so I could speak directly to her. Oh and I did use the fast-track option.
I suggest anyone with concerns call NZQA, the customer service people there are very friendly and helpful, instead of just putting me through to the evaluator's voicemail she checked on her hours for me, something that I know from much experience would not happen here in the US.

Just had to update I got my assessment and documents back in the mail today! I was assessed level 7 for my BA which is what I expected. So they received my documents 24/9/07 and I have the assessment in my hands 17/10/07 with the fast-track option, total 24 days. They never did contact me to say the assessment was done and being sent back but I have it now so I can't complain.

Update,
I rang NZQA last night, was told that hopefully it would be picked up by an assessor within the next two weeks, then I should get a reply within 20 days (They received it on the 7th September). We need to get our ITA in by 1st December. We haven’t had our medicals yet because we are waiting to make sure we get the correct grade, otherwise it will be a waste of time and money.
Has anybody asked for an extension to the date for getting your ITA in?

Hi.
I asked for an extension to our submission date, when my quals came back assessed too low. NZIS extended it by 2 months (to 4th January), to give me time to get a job offer lined up.... still working on that!
It never occurred to me that my quals wouldn't get a Level 7, and we went ahead with our medicals. After all the money we've spent, it would be foolish to give up now, so I am madly applying for jobs.
Good luck!

I guess we were very fortunate - we submitted our papers to NZQA on 13/8/07 and received them back with full assessment on 26/08/07 - we did have job offer and would strongly recommend you do the fast track method - it was bit more expensive but money well worth spent.
Good luck

my NZQA documents arrived in Wellington on 26 September, credit card debited straight away, then nothing til 16 October when I got an auto-response email saying it was being processed, nothing further to date. (not fast tracked). So all in all about 6.5 weeks so far.

Hi... I bet nobody's case worst than mine... A YEAR AND A HALF AND STILL WAITING.
My documentation (10 years sheet-fed offset printing) has been translated in English from Italian, but something must be wrong... they don't get back to me, so I write an email each month just to ask "how things are going with my application?"... then last week I decided to ask some information directly to PRINTNZ, which is the awarding body, then I will go straight to NZ and undertake a test to obtain NZ Qualification. Right after that, :exit I'll go to NZQA Headquarter and ask for my money and documentation back...:nice1
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU
Greetings
Gio :D

Same boat. (thankfully not as Gio...good luck Gio). Submitted in September, still waiting. NZQA seem to have some backlog issues? Didn't fast track though, perhaps anyone submitting now should be doing that.
Glad you're back on dry land (out of the boat), can you throw us a rope?

well done. Glad you got what you needed.
It's always worth calling NZQA. when ours [we did fast track] seemed to be taking a while we called them and it turned out they had moved office and it had been put into the wrong box and filed wrongly....... amazing that they admitted it..... you wouldn't get that honesty here. They then sent it out immediately for us........ getting the package from DHL was another story...:no But NZQA are very nice and helpful.

Just to follow up...without having pestered NZQA too much our assessment arrived by DHL this morning, so in the end not too long all things considered (we didn't fast track, and we didn't have a job offer). Good news is the full assessment is at the same level as the pre-assessment was.:clap

I didn't hear or received anything from NZQA until I received a letter from DHL to pick up a package from NZ. Give it a couple of days and then give them a ring, the phone number is in the guide attach to the application form.
Good luck
