Can any of you in the Dunedin region recommend a realtor (do you call them solicitors in the UK?) who has a good sense of aesthetic and doesn't bother showing us what's not worth looking at?

We'll be in Dunedin for few days 25-29 Nov looking at neighbourhoods, outlying communities and primary schools and hope to have a few hours with a realtor who can give us a glimpse of what's out there.

We'll be looking at renting first on arrival in Jan 08 but may purchase if the right place shows up with a realtor.

We worked with Marie Maker from Ray White to sell our property. She's smart, informed and the company deals with all regions of Dunedin. Look at www.rwdunedin.co.nz

A solicitor is a lawyer so you'd use them for your legal paperwork .. we (English) call them Estate Agents .. over here I'd know them as Real Estate Agents .. good luck with your search ;)

We used Lesley Craw to purchase our property, and would recommend her. She works for Metro (http://www.metrorealty.co.nz) which are probably the biggest agents in town, and dominate the more upmarket hills suburbs.
