I have been reading these forums for a few months now, but after visiting the NZ expo in London recently my husband and I are starting to take the first small steps to realise our dream of moving to NZ.

I will probably be asking lots of questions over the coming months, and everyone on here just seems so friendly and helpful.

We are a family of five. Me (caroline), my husband and 3 children 8,7 and 3.

I've been looking at the NZ Expo for next April. Did you find the visit was worthwhile? and did you get some helpful information?

The NZ expo was excellent! We had heard it was very busy on the Saturday, so we went on the Sunday and were there at 10am when it opened. I would definitely recommend the quieter period.
We got to talk at length to agencies, banks, real estate, immigration. I was practically having my arms pulled off with potential job offers (nursing).
Nothing in the way of employment for my husband though (creative industries).
It is also well worth paying the extra for the immigration seminar which runs hourly. Lots of worth while information. A chance to ask your questions etc.
We will be returning to the expo again, nearer the time that we are thinking of moving. I read that the expo was biannual (which I took as meaning every two years, instead of twice yearly!!) DOH.

The Expo is indeed twice a year but the October one is by far the biggest and best. The one in March is much smaller and not so well represented by NZ companies. If you do a search on the forum you'll find some useful threads about the Expo.
