We (myself and spouse) have had a vague idea of wanting to emigrate for a few years now. We narrowed our choices down to Canada and New Zealand and are strongly leaning towards NZ. We both work in healthcare and are now confident of finding work after visiting the Manchester expo yesterday. We're looking to emigrate 2009-10 with our dogs and cats.

We live near Warrington, so seem to have a lot of company on this board. Its great to have such an informative board to read.

Having introduced myself, I shall go back to perusing the other threads and prepare to batter your heads with questions. ;)

Hello... what is it about Cheshire that so many of us want to leave??!?!?

Welcome to the forum. There are some really helpful and friendly people here

We have pencilled in a North West forum meet for the 10th November (need to check the date) at the Mascrat Manor - all welcome! I haven't been to one before, but think it will be fun.

Welcome indeed. Maybe we should start an ex-Cheshire meet on this side of the world once you're all over here.

Like your name...HippyWench. My OH often calls me Hippy and Wench. Maybe says something about what attracts us to NZ then :laugh

Anyway...batter away at our heads...we've all done it :)

Hi Hippywench....and welcome to the forum.

Kev and I have just started the process of applying....even at this point, it's very exciting! Not sure I'd be of much help as yet, I'm still at the 'OMG, so many questions' stage but this site has been a huge help and learning curve.

Pretty addictive though...lol

Good luck

Sue

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I won't be able to get to the meet on 10th November due to work commitments. There's three things I could be doing that weekend apart from work :wah

How often do you meet?
