Hi there, I'm looking for some cool recommendations for accommodation in the following areas.

Coromandel: around Whitianga - Whangamata way
Tauranga/Mount Maunganui
Taupo
Napier

I backpacked/camped around most of these area's so I'm not really sure of any suitable options for my parents. If you know of any gems of place be it B&B, apartments, baches, motels or hotels I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

My folks are used to the European style hotel with all you can eat buffet & swimming pool. I've explained to them things are much more kiwi over here. But a swimming pool would be a real bonus.

They'll be over in summer - Jan/Feb.

Hi Mike. I can highly recommend the following B&B up here in Whitianga. Well actually, it is about a 15 min drive out of town.
No pool I`m afraid, but the beach is about 50 meters away. We stayed in the lodges self contained flat as we were on a fairly long term booking, but Bill & Lorraine have a superb luxury set up in the main house, and they are quite reasonable price wise. You will need to book quite soon for anywhwere up this way at that time of year as it is very busy ( by NZ standards).
