I have a friend looking for work in New Zealand now. He's having a pretty tough time living in hostels, trying not to spend too much while looking for work and missing his family back home.

The agents are of course optimistic and he has had interviews but is not having much luck actually securing a position.

I believe his speciality is mathematical modelling but all that is way above my head.

I think he is in Christchurch at the moment but soon to be back in Welly.

If there is anyone having social meet ups and wouldn't mind an extra face or anyone with any contacts in the world of Physics or Lecturing could you let me know, either via forum or PM. I think he could use a boost even if he can't make it.

He is a forumee but can't afford to browse too much as it's a bit pricey for him.

I understand about how pricey it is to browse the Internet while still in transit here!!! How lovely of you to help on your friend's behalf.

I've PM'd you.

.... Well the jobs above cover some of them. Your friend really should contact IRL (used to be DSIR) human resources to see what is available.
