Hi folks,
anyone know of any short term rentals going in Auckland? Preferably to the west and/or North of the CBD.
We arrive 29 December but are looking for one from around 4 Jan for a month or so. If good maybe even longer! Don't want to spend massive amounts of cash if we can help it.
thanks folks
p.s. posted this in vacation and motels section too as I wasn't sure which would be the best area, sorry for duplicate post

If you are looking at a rental for a month, then a holiday let will probably suit you, they nearly always give you a discount for stays of longer than a week.
This site has holiday lets and rentals in Devonport, its a popular place in the summer, so book early:

This thread has some links to holiday places on the North Shore:

And this recent thread may have some links you'd find useful:

And although this thread is about a different area, it has a lot of useful links to Holiday Bach sites:

We arrived at a similar time to you a couple of years ago, you will be competing with tourist for accommodation but on the up side a lot of Kiwis rent out their homes for the school holidays while they go and stay in their Bach. So you will find a few holiday rentals which last till the start of Feb when schools start again.
One word of warning though, this is very much holiday season, which can make it hard to get things done. As well as Christmas & New Year, there is Auckland Anniversary Day and Waitaingi Day and its very common for people to take long weekends, including letting agents.
So, on the downside, you might find it harder to get things done, but on the upside, you'll have more time on the beach! :D
Here's a list of holiday dates:

Thanks for those Tia,
I might actually get a chance to look at them tonight!!
Just now trying to plan the removals. We have too much stuff for a reefer, so it looks like going for a standard container.... more expense!
