i will be staying in surfers paradise for a week on our way over.,i have a few hotels in my fav to contact,but i was just wondering if anyone here has been there and can recomend one ??

Hi Dawn,

If I were you I would not stay in a hotel I would stay in one of the many self contained apartments they have along the coast. Most of these are holiday lets anyway.

As long as you’re not going in peak season you don't need to book anything, just drive around until you spot a block that you like the look of and then go into the foyer and ask what apartments they have for rent. These work out very reasonable indeed if you’re staying for a period of 5 days or more. These apartments are always fully kitted out and you get all mod cons, including full kitchen ware with dishwasher, laundry room with washer and dryer. What’s more, it feels like your own place.

We do it all the time and even in peak season have been able to find some really great apartments. The last time we stayed was last Xmas, we didn't book anything prior to arrival but found a very well presented 3 bedroom apartment on the 24th floor, a stones throw from surfers centre, with full sea view, swimming pool and tennis courts, cost AUS$220 per night.
