I know it's got something to do with Auckland, and I know it's got a District Health Board, but I can't locate it as an area of Auckland. OH has just applied for a job there and I always like to look at the real estate websites to see what the property is like in areas where he's applied, but I can't get any information about this at all.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks, Carol

Waitemata is the old name for what is now Waitakere City - so west Auckland, New Lynn, Glen Eden - and out to the hills themselves.

It's also the main harbour - but I suspect you're looking for something on the landward side :)

Thankyou Dougie! Back to my favourite pass-time now - looking for houses!

Uhh? That's news to me! Interesting! You learn something every day!

"Wai Te Mata" is Maori and means "Sparkling Water" and is the name of the natural harbour in Auckland.

Cheers

Peter

Waitemata Health Board consists of West and North Auckland - mainly North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital.
