Will our BT Home Hub Broadband modem work in NZ ? Is it worth bringing or will we have to buy a new modem once there?
Thanks in advance!

Don't know about this model of modem, but generally they should work as the phone system is the same with the same connectors etc. I guess it depends on which broadband service that you will be able to get as well e.g you may go with cable or satellite.
Even if it doesn't work, when you get broadband installed all the providers appear to give you a free modem for a single computer anyway, so I wouldn't buy one until you get to NZ and have checked out all the options.

We had problem with our modem router thing....the software wouldn't let it work outside UK phone network. Luckily the bloke is in IT and managed to blag it.....but was a bit of a faff to do :(

The wireless bit will work, but I think you may have a problem with the broadband. Whilst NZ use the same setup broadband wise (PPPoA/E etc), we had to get a new router as I think our UK model was perhaps getting confused by the different dial tone on the line and disconnecting within a second or so of connection.
We're glad we got a new one though as the new router seems to connect at twice the speed of our UK belkin one :o) . We live out of the city (Wellington) here and get 50% quicker connection than we did in Cardiff city centre somehow.
If your BT home hub has ethernet ports at the back you could probably just connect a cheap-o broadband ethernet modem to the back of it and have the PC(s) connect through the hub to the router as a work around.
You never know, you may be fine anyway and have no problem at all as our wireless bb router was a fair few years old which may have been the cause of our hassles.
Hope this helps a bit.

My Netgear ADSL modem/router from the UK works just fine here - no tinkering required (other than putting the settings for Xnet in).
Not sure about the BT Home Hub though. In theory it should be fine but I suspect BT have loaded it up with a bunch of proprietary software. Might be worth giving it a go though. If it works, brilliant, if not you can pick up a cheap ADSL modem on TradeMe.

I believe home hubs are not fully adjustable, and do not even work in the uk with broadband from providers other than BT
I've got one (plus a spare) so they won't be in my suitcase

Bob
I stand corrected
I must remember not to listen to BT installation engineers, he told me the BT Home hub doesnt work with any other broadband, it sounds like they tell porkies.

I've heard that the HH only works with a BT Line also. I switched to cable anyway, BT customer support was doing my head in.
