Don't know if am posting in the right section but just wanted to ask if anyone has gone down the road of mortgage holiday whilst trying to sell in the UK? If so did you fess up and say you were moving to NZ? And then actually make the move whilst still on holiday so to speak. We're just sussing out possible options
Any advice would be grand :nice1

As soon as we had concluded missives we asked Nationwide if we could holiday until settlement, they were fine with it. Our mortgage entitled us to 6 months holiday, we only used 2.

We took a 6 month payment holiday when we left - didn't tell them we were emigrating though!
At the time we had a buyer and thought it would all go through ok, it didn't, and although we got another buyer pretty quickly we still had to pay our UK mortgage and NZ rent for 3 months.
Just make sure you have a safety net if it doesn't sell in the holiday period!
