Hi Peeps

Can members please reccomend the best bank to have an account with in NZ. We are going over on a whv but may get a work permit so what the right sort of bank account in case. Which banks allow you to set a account up from the UK. I want to have this sorted out before we go then I can use online money exchnagers who do not charge admin costs.

We are with Westpac...they have been absolutely outstanding so far. We were able to open the account on-line have been speaking to one of the guys down there (a British ex-pat by the way) with any questions we have etc. We are meeting him when we arrive and he will have our bank cards ready and all the info we could want regarding a Mortgage. They have honestly been great - a vast improvement on my current bank (Abbey).

From the research we did, they seem to be one of the cheapest banks in NZ when it comes to fees so all in all I would highly recommend them.

Where will you be moving to? I could give you the name of the guy we have been dealing with if you want.
