Can any one help answer our question?
Does an (first) Uncle & Aunt constitute as 'Close Family' to apply the additional 10-points towards the EOI score?
As the NZ Immigration site is not clear, and may suggest only immediate family, i.e. Partners, Sons & Daughters.
Any help on this availble?:clap
Many thanks,

I've been wondering the same thing. Somewhere in the back of my mind I feel that I heard Aunts/Uncles don't count as 'close family', but I suspect this is from when we first looked into moving to NZ 14 years ago (!) some people take a long time to make decisions!!
In my case I'm closer to my Aunt in NZ (emotionally) than I am to my mum, but that's families for you!
I'll watch this thread with interest.
All the best, Carol

Hi,
As far as we know - no. We have family at the Uncle / Aunt level, but didn't use them for points. But not sure if that's a solid fact. Someone will be along with the right answer soon though.

Hi,
On this page http://www.emigratenz.org/GeneralSkills.html it states that
"Close family is adult brothers, sisters, adult children (17 years and over) and parents of either the principal applicant or their partner. "
