Hiya,
I fractured my leg a few years back and had to have surgery. I mentioned it during my medical exam (the doc could not have gone pass it, I have a scar to prove it :laugh ), he thought nothing of it but my Case Officer asked me to provide a letter from my doctor detailing what happened and asking to give a prognosis for the next few years. After visiting my doc, I sent everything to NZ House and got PR a week later :)
As long as your health is not likely to cause a burden for the NZ health system you'll be all good ;)
Jen :D
Edit: I did have my med check back in 2005 before they changed the rules though, I don't think it will make that much of a difference but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Yes the medical assessors here in NZ are more worried about long term things like diabetes, heart issues, cancer, AIDS, TB, Hep B, etc.
You sound pretty healthy, and besides what's stopping someone broken breaking a leg. Legs heal, diabetes or AIDS do not.
Cheers!

Hi,
A broken leg will not affect you at all. I am a Diabetic and have a replacement shoulder joint and they passed me. They were more interested in the Diabetes than the shoulder replacement.
You will be fine.
