Hi, I'm not that bothered about finding much on the supermarket shelves that I will recognise, but I am hoping I can find diet Pepsi!!! I've had a look on Woolworths website, and can only find 1.5l bottles of normal Pepsi, and cans of Pepsi Max, they do seem to be a very good price, but as I don't drink tea or coffee, only Pepsi, (ofcourse, I have been known to have the odd half shandy on spwecial occassions ;) )I was hoping they would have it - incidently I don't like Coke!!

Thanks

im guessing we all shall be checking supermarket shelves for you today and over the weekend. I find it amusing though that a person can set off on a brave new life leaving behind loved ones , friends , work colleagues, neighbours all we know from being a kid but must have diet coke hee hee.
Incidentally has anyone noticed if the milk is different as ive tried many brands of instant coffee (used to have gold blend in the uk) but i cant get the taste i enjoyed?

Milk is all homogenised here, which if you were used to doorstep delivered milk in the UK is different (although if you bought supermarket milk that is homogenised in the UK) also the cows here eat grass outside all year round so that will affect the taste of the milk compared to grain fed.

Diet Pepsi is available although quite why anyone would want to fill their bodies with aspartame is beyond me. (Same with instant coffee, for that matter) (Food snobbery mode off now)

Not seen any bottles of diet pepsi on the shelves, but pepsi max is readily available in 1.5l bottles (as of course is normal pepsi).

Prices even from the same retailer seem to vary a lot from around 89c to NZ$2 depending on special offers which happen regularly.

Recommend you stock up when you find it on special offer as it isn't always available i.e. you can buy it from the same shop for a month and then they won't stock it for weeks.

Ah the old Aspartame fix.... :laugh

I tend to keep that junk away from my body as much as possible!!

Plenty of fizzy products to keep you occupied here if you need it.

I am not a tea and coffee drinker but I hear there is plenty of good wine over there!!!

Incidentally what is the water like for drinking as that is my non-caffeine tipple (when not on the wine)?

Water here is variable, we live in Cambridge and I drink it, but in some areas of Hamilton i believe it is yuk!!! My theory is to stick to wine and it is plentiful and good!!!

Water here in Auckland seems to be fine...well we drink it :D . I notice alot of houses with newer kitchens have a water filter tap fitted. But, if the filter is not changed regularly, then the water can have more harmful bacteria in it that ordinary tap water.

Especially when Countdown have their wine sales on eh Jo?!! ;)

Bottle of wine that would cost you £5-7 in UK for approx £3 here, scandalous!

During the 7 weeks I spent in Masterton last year I only saw Diet Pepsi in the New World Supermarket (either in Masterton or Carterton) a few times. They always had Diet Coke, but I prefer the Pepsi.

Shouldn't have read this. On call tonight so can't drink and reading this is making me salivate for a glass of wine! Have to make do with Pepsi instead.
