Should I submit the applications?
If I am not mistaking, according to the last EOI selection on October 24, they didn't approve applications under 140 points without a job offer.

Hi Omer,

If I am not mistaking, according to the last EOI selection on October 24, they didn't approve applications under 140 points without a job offer.

Here is a representation of the table of that EOI selection:
(Couldn't get the actual table on here so a lot of cutting/pasting, hope I didn't mess it up :o ! The actual table can be found here (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/community/general/generalinformation/news/eoiselection.htm))

Selection criteria
No. of EOIs

All EOIs at or above 140 points.
443

All EOIs with a job or a job offer claiming points between 100 and 135 points.
86

All EOIs claiming 15 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage and with a points total between 100 and 135 points.
44

All EOIs claiming 10 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage and with a points total between 100 and 135 points.
28

All EOIs claiming 10 points for a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage and with a points total between 100 and 135 points.
34

All EOIs between 115 and 135 points where there is no points claim for a job or job offer, work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage, or qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage.
138

TOTAL SELECTION
773

As far as I can see they have selected EOI's without Job Offers and points between 100 and 135 if points have been claimed for work experience or qualifications in areas of Absolute Skill Shortage. Where no such points have been claimed it looks like the minimum amount of points necessary is now at 115.

If you are claiming points for work experience or qualifications in an area of Absolute Skills Shortage, I don't see why you shouldn't put in your EOI at this stage ?

If you are not, then it might be better to try and boost your points by attempting to find a job. This can be difficult if you're not in NZ right now, but other postings on this forum have shown that it can be done.

I guess the other option would be to come to NZ on a Visitors' Visa, find a job, apply for a Work Permit and then apply for Permanent Residency. There are many posting on here of others who have done the same, it might be worth doing a forum search for them to gain some insight into this.

Keep in mind also that the above table only shows how many Expressions of Interest were selected for further consideration, not how many actual applications (Invitation to Apply aka ITA) were approved.

Hope this helps and good luck !

This is how I reached 100 points.
I don't belive I have a chance finding job while being in Israel. Still, I will try this option and wish for the best.

Thank you,
Omer

Good luck Omer with your search. Would you let us on the forum know what occupancy you're in or looking for as I'm sure this might throw up some advice from the members.
