Don't know if you are all the same, but on my CV I just put months on for employment not actuall dates. and as there is room my husband's first job is on his starting in 1988 but I can't remember even what month.
As I have put these on the EOI, I need to put dates.
I am putting 1st of month starting and end of month for finishing, as it is usually like that even if it is the 5th or something. Should I put a note on there to say this.
Also not sure what to put of 1988, have checked and don't have a letter from them, but maybe, (being a horder) I have the payslips.
Can you get the Inland Revnue to confirm dates of employment, as they get all the paperwork? Some of the companys we have listed have now been taken over or are out of business.
Thanks

Hello there
That's exactly what I did with my EOI, I couldn't remember the exact dates and so made a guess at what I thought they were.
I know when it gets to the ITA stage you need to provide supporting info to prove your work experience, but I think if the dates don't match up you will be fine so long as the number of years you are claiming experience for is still the same.
I know it probably doesn't feel like it but the NZIS are human and I am sure they realise that people can't remember the exact date they started a job 10 years ago. Another thing I found annoying was that you have to put a start and finish date for each job, there is no ability to say that you are still currently working in your latest position.
As for the inland revenue there is a thread here http://www.emigratenz.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1372 about people contacting their local national insurance office and getting details of their contributions over their working life to prove their work experience.
Good luck

Jo,
I'm pretty sure I did the same on mine, just put months not actual dates. With regards to Inland Revenue I wouldn't worry as long as you have proof of his employment DURING the time you specify. If NZIS need any more info they will contact you.
Cheers,
Mark. :P

Hi Jo,
When I filled my EOI I did not have the exact dates either so I was advised to just state the 1st of the month for all.
After the EOI was submitted I contacted my employers to obtain letters of reference, which had the exact dates of employment, and when I had the exact dates, I amended the ITA.
You are allowed to make changes to information you submitted in the EOI at the ITA stage.
If the changes are major or significant, you will need to explain. An example I was given is - if you had indicated that you worked for ABC Company in the EOI and you want to amend that to XYZ Company in the ITA, you will need to explain why or how they are linked.
If you look at the NZIS website, you will see that you need not show proof of work experience beyond 10 years as they do not count for any additional points. So don't worry about that 1988 job! State it in the EOI and ITA but no proof necessary.
Cheers,
Shagen

Thanks everyone.
I am putting the 1988 one as it shows it was a graduate position moving up. Just found the payslips last night so know the dates.
Am putting 1st of each month. Hardly anyone starts mid month, (apart from me in my last job 27th April, mad really).
Hope you all have a good weekend.
