Hi all,

I've been offered a job with Telecom after some phone and VC interviews the last few weeks. I'm still in the UK and we plan to fly out in Jan 08.

I've got Police checks sent off (had applied for them before but they have now expired), medicals booked for the end of this month, and an EOI ready to go on the NZIS website. Just waiting for written conformition of Job to arrive before I sent it in.

What I'd like to know is that is it worth applying for PR visa here, as I'll need some sort of Visa to work by Feb. I'd like to get it sorted before we fly but I'm not sure if we have long enough in the UK left (about 10 weeks including Xmas), and don't want to be in the position where we have to move to NZ and the NZIS is sending ITA's, communications, etc to the UK after we have left.

Really confused on what to do now, so any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks
:o

We got a 9 month visa sorted first so we could leave in 8 weeks. At the same time we submitted our EOI. We sorted medicals, police checks etc and submitted our ITA the day before we left. I rang our case officer and explained the situation and she said it was better to submit it in the Uk as it would get processed quicker.

Once we arrived in NZ we e-mailed here with the new address, she then e-mailed any responses with the original in the post.

If you go down this route once you are approved in principal I would ask them to transfer your case to your nearest NZ office as then you don't have to send your passports back to the UK you can just take them in or post to your nearest office.

Good luck with everything.

Jo
