Hi everyone, I finally seem to have been able to log on succesfully and say how helpful it has been to read all the entries on this site during the last few months as we finally get near (hopefully) to submitting our Application for residency. With all the hoops my partner and I have needed to go through - professional registration and NZQA assessment (hope to get back soooon) - it's been very reassuring to feel that we're not alone in our confusions, excitements and frustrations.

Thanks for the welcome folks!
We are hoping to settle in Wellington (the beautiful and sensible job-opportunity choice) or Gisborne (the wonderfully off-the beaten-track-choice). We spent time in both places last NZ summer and loved both for completely different reasons. Overall we spent 6 months in NZ and became hopelessly addicted. I've been applying for jobs in both....
Isn't it great to be trying to live in a place where one of the hardest choices about living there is deciding between wonderful places to start a home?:raebanana
However it's also so hard waiting to slowly get through each stage of the process which makes the future feels so uncertain at times.:uhoh
