Hi Andy

There's few tips on this thread, although it was about vc'ing too. http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14247

Just be yourself, have some notes to hand and if you have a phone connection with a delay, remember to pause, that also gives you a breathing space too.

Have you done any research on the company, so that you have some conversation starters?

Good luck, let us know how you get on....... :nice1

Notice I didn't ask any nosey questions, like what company is it or where are they situated!

Good luck!
I had a VC interview last night, and found the delay very difficult to deal with! I kept babbling to fill the gaps...

I do lots of audio meetings at work, and my suggestions would be:
- speak a little slower than usual, and try to keep your voice clear
- try not to rustle paper on your knee / desk - it really amplifies down the phone line!

The advantage of the audio interview is that you can make copious notes beforehand, and refer to them during the call. You could make a list of questions that you want to ask? Or give yourself background notes on the company.

Go for it :)

Thanks Jane, some great tips there, think I may take the interview in the dining room and spread my notes over the table, may cut down on the paper rustling!

When will you hear the result of your interview?

Hi ASWG.
They have promised to come back to me by the end of the week... they want to move quickly which can only be a good thing (at least as far as my nerves go!!).

Good luck newkiwis2... it's nerve wracking, but cheaper than flying to NZ for the interview!
