Thought I'd share some good news, as I've gained so much hope in the past from reading the good news of others on this site.
Just received our NZQA assessment back with all the points we need! It's such a relief to know for sure. When living with such uncertainty for so long thoughout the whole residency application process, each step further forward is a cause for celebration! I really understand that long and winding road feeling someone else mentioned.
The whole process took 4 weeks from when we posted the precious package off to getting the report back (yesterday). We paid for the fast-track option as we'd seen others recommend it (thank you) and as we'd already been issued with our ITA. I needed my Masters assessing, but was also required to have my BA assessed to. I sent everything I could in - including O level certificates from 1979!!!! (Yes we did have paper back then!!!!) It took ages (6 weeks) to get a letter out of my old University to say that they couldn't access a transcript because they didn't keep information that long (1989) due to 'restructuring' which sounded a bit worryingly unconvincing to me, but it was enough for NZQA:raebanana
Now just getting the final bits and peices together before submitting the PR application. The another deep breath.....
I've no job offer yet and would really prefer to know where we stand with the residency visa before packing the cases. We have 150 points on the ITA. I'd be interested to know if anyone has an understanding of the likelihood of being issued with a permanent residency visa, versus a work-to-residency visa? I'd obviously so much prefer we got a permanent visa, but would rather get a job when we're over there without the continued uncertainty & pressure that I guess a work-to-residency visa brings.
