Has anyone heard of Royal Brunei ??
Have been offered quite cheap quotes flying with them to UK , I can't seem to find much information on them though and they aren't listed on seatguru.com either ? If anyone has any experiences with them, would be much appreciated !

Also, where any of their stopovers are ??

Haven't personally flown them but know someone who has and they thought they were fine, although not such good service as someone like Singapore airlines. As Chiba says they are a 'dry' airline but are more than happy to open your wine/beer for you if you want to take your own on. They fly via Brunei (on Borneo - ace!) and on via Dubai to London.

I flew out to NZ with singapore airlines, flew back home with Emirates who I thought were much better actually. When I was flyin I spoke to a lady who said Royal Brunei were better than both of them.

Well, if the sultan can't afford to pay for a decent team and service then nobody can.

I flew with them to Dubai a couple of years ago, they were ok but I personally wouldn't choose to fly with them again. The service was ok, poor entertainment, we were delayed for 6 hours on the way home because the flight was delayed leaving Brunei. I know this could happen with any airline but the impression I got from the airline staff at Dubai was that it was a regular thing:roll
Going on a dry airline wasn't a problem for us but after a long delay a drink would have been welcome:laugh

I used Royal Brunei when I was posted there in the Army. They are OK, not brilliant but OK.
Its quite funny that they had a 6 hour delay in Brunei, the Airport is very clean and modern but with nothing to do once you're there! Plus there is probably only 1 or 2 planes there at any one time (not including the Sultans own planes and a couple of military ones).
I guess it was a mechanical problem, but it could've been the "there's no rush" scenario which pervades the locals.
I also remember a female cabin crew advert in a local (Bruneian) paper for RB. Something along the lines of "If you are attractive, minimum of 5'2" and are thin, you could have a career with RB Airlines".
You get what you pay for...........

Thanx everyone with your replies :D
However, we have now decided to not go with them (nothing to do with lack of alcohol - promise !!) We got a quote from the Flight Centre for Thai air - initially I was not too keen, having only ever flown with Air NZ I really wanted to go with someone I'm familiar with - however, it seems the really really good deals were about 3 weeks ago- which we narrowly missed due to lack of funds and now all the prices are slowly and surely going back up again.
We have been quoted a lower price with Thai, including all domestic flights and taxes and have been offered a nights stopover in Bangkok, which still equates cheaper than any of Air NZ / Cathay Pacific for just International flights.
So ! - We will be stopping for One night in Bangkok (Im sure that's a song !!?) which will give us a chance to recover a lot more, for when we eventually touch down in Heathrow and therefore will keep me more alert for greeting all my old buddies !!
I will just have to double secure our suitcases with extra strength padlocks from any dodgy dudes so we don't travel via Bangkok Hilton !!

I have searched Thai Airways within this site and the feedback doesnt seem too bad, so hopefully we will have no probs !
