Any body in the forum from New Plymouth.We have just recieved news our application for residency has been approved. Just need to pay the levy and sell the house and then we will be arriving in NP. Hopfully early next january.

Hi there guys. I see that you're on post number two, so welcome.

We don't live in NP, but I was there for work last week and it looks a fantastic place. Mind you the sun was out, so that helps.

Mt Egmont looks specatular though (well it would have done, but it was too cloudy when I was there).

Hopefully there is someone from the forum in that neck of the woods. I was very taken with it though, and I've promised the OH that we'd visit there at some point.

We're 'just down the road' and although we've been several times, that's not much help to you now.

Try reading back over Hannah's postings. She's been there a while and has posted some good info on NP, but I haven't seen her around on here lately. (Apologies Hannah, if you are reading this and I've missed you :))

As Hodges says the mountain is spectacular and it does seem to dominate you everywhere you go. On a clear day you can see it from here in Wanganui too.

NP CBD itself is a compact place with all the normal requirements, but I do remember Hannah saying that shopping was more expensive there. You'll get more for your money property wise IMO.

We've been living in NP since March and love it for our young family. The mountain and the sea are on the doorstep and its got a great relaxed feel. If you have any specific questions let me know and I'm happy to be on hand when you finally arrive !! All the best with the move!
