Hi all,

Now that we've arrived here in NZ I find myself wondering about NZ equivalents of shops we used to use in the UK. The type of thing I'm thinking of is such as Trademe = Ebay, Dick Smith = Maplin, Farmers = Debenhams/BHS etc.

Does anyone know if there is an NZ equivalent of shops such as play.com that offer discounted books/dvds/games etc? I've found many small websites that do a tiny percentage of what play.com (and similar e-shops) used to do in the UK, but not any particular one size fits all website yet. :confused:

OH orders PSP games from a place based in Greenhithe, Auckland....he's gone to bed to play his PSP....will try and remember to ask him in morning. I think it is called GameStore or something similar :confused:

We still order stuff from Play and Amazon for anything we cannot be bothered seaching for here. Better things to do with my time than shopping :)

How do get things form Amazon. I thought the UK website only delivered to the UK and the Amazon .co. to the states. Please could you give me the website.

Actually both the amazon.co.uk and .com offer international delivery.

Costs are obviously more than local delivery but not too bad and you maybe able to use the exchange rate to your advantage.

Standard delivery does take some time to arrive though so allow plenty of time.

Also, a lot of items they sell they won't deliver internationally, so you need to check on a per item basis, but books and DVDs are fine (don't forget the region code for DVDs).

cd-wow.com and blahdvd.com both deliver out here - blah used to be free delivery, but now it's a flat £1.50 per ORDER, not item, so if you want anything get a couple at a time :)
