Can somebody tell me if there are any English / Dutch communities where people come together for a drink / laugh :cheers . I think it would be nice to talk to people about their experience of moving to a new live?:D

You don't say whether you are looking for a get together in NZ or your home country(?)

There are various meetings organised in NZ and around the world, check out Meets / Get Togethers (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=19) in the forum for any current meetings.

If none are suitable, then how about starting a thread of your own to see if others are interested.
