Hi, my OH has just had a job offer for a company in Wellington. :raebanana

He's a Network Architect and has been offered a salary of $100k. They are not offering any relocation package. Does this sound reasonable as I've seen from previous posts that immigrants are often offered less than market rates because we don't know any better.

We're desperate to come over, but won't have much of a cushion when we arrive so want to be sure we're going to be comfortable renting a house with 2 teenage children (and one on the way) and home office with that kind of salary.

Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks, B

First of all, congratulations to your OH! :raebanana

Hays Salary Survey (http://www.hays.com.au/salary/pdfs07/Information%20Technology.pdf) says:

Network Engineer: 70,000 - 90,000; median 80,000.
Network Manager: 85,000 - 110,000; median 100,000.
Network Designer: 110,000 - 140,000; median 120,000.

So, seems slightly low (haggle?), but it'd get you in the country and earning, at which point you're free to look around. ;)

Don't know about the salary scales, but congrats on the job offer!
