Uk cashcards work in any machine here. Max w/d about $700. Can use your NZ acoount in UK and anywhere else. Even savings account card works.

Downside HBOS charge £1.50 for each w/d you make here and NZ banks have not heard of free banking and rob you of 50c everytime you get card out of purse. Look at www.asb.co.nz for account charges here. Most banks roughly the same but we went with asb because they will open an account even if you are non resident and just on a visitors permit.

Course you can. Speak to your UK bank tho' to see which ones you can use free and which you will get charged at for withdrawals. If you open an acoount here most seem to have free banking ( for eftpos/switch etc) if you have a minimum balance in the account, in our case $5000.
