We are hoping that OH will get a job offer and we will apply for PR and work visa if needed in the interim depending on timescales.
Now having read a few posts about trouble with BMI's and things I'm having a quick panic.

I have an inherited clotting problem, nowhere near as bad as heamophillia but my fear is this;

supposing my OH got a job offer, we started the process, handed in his notice in this country, we got already to go, or had arrived in NZ...

and then failed the medical .

would this preclude us from staying at all?

because then we would be left with no job in either country..... :eek:

help please, I think I'm missing something obvious but the worse case scenario keeps looming

I can only speak for myself but i would not hand my notice in until i got the okay from NZIS and they passed all our medicals for PR or Work Permit.
Me and the OH are pretty new to this stuff though, i wish you the best of luck with your medical.

That's the position I'm in - the medical was the one bit I was worried about. I have a job offer, but my OH has Type II diabetes, so I'll be waiting till we're sure of PR before giving notice. My prospective employer has known all along about the need for me to be sure of PR first and (so far) is happy with that (they must really want me!). As it is, our medical forms say everything's fine, but the diabetes is noted, and the ITA will be off in the post tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
