Hi there everyone
I've been offered a job:raebanana in Manukau and we're really excited about making the move from stinky uk but I'm now worried about OH getting a visa.:( He is unskilled and has been looking after our gorgeous son since I went back to work after mat leave 15 months ago.
Can anyone advise me as to whether he'll need a job offer to be allowed in?
Confused but hopeful:confused:

Please double check this...info from when we looked into it.
If you have a work permit, OH should be able to apply for an open work permit.
If you apply for skilled migrant, it covers all family.

You OH can simply come as your partner - you will have to add him and your son to your EOI. You will have to prove that you have a serious relationship - children count! - you will need bills or bank statements in joint names when you come to send off your paperwork.
Your OH will need to pass a medical, police check and speak good english just the same as you. You will also get extra points if he has a degree of any kind or a relative living in nz.
He will be able to work if he chooses too but be aware that there can be tough to get nursery places.
Early Learning is on the skills shortage but training has to be completed in nz..............could be a future occupation for him! :)
Good Luck!
