I have been following Jane thread and was wondering what is the quickest anyone has gone from job offer to PR from scratch.
We need a job offer to submit an EOI so it's chicken and egg situation. But if OH gets a job they are likely to want him out there in 3 months.
Could we get PR in that time?

Seems to me as if Speckythecky managed to get sorted rather quickly. I'd do a search for his posts. :)

We had decided that we were coming out whatever when Kim got a job offer, EOI was submitted 4 days later and ITA recieved, returned and PR granted within 5 weeks,
Arrived 3 weeks later having had a week in LA on the way.
It was fairly stressful, particularly when the emigration people phone to query the police checks and we didn't have the proof they needed. However the police had the info on file and faxed it to london for us (Always did love the UK police), and also when waiting for the passports to come back.
It can be done in less than 3 months, but be prepared, have all you paperwork ready, and hand deliver as much as possible.

Wow, I'm impressed. Had not realised it could be that quick. The time thingy is such an issue cos OH can't hand in notice here 'til we have PR as we are too 'chicken' and kids at school and .... and .... I must remember to breathe.
:yes
Now I remember his Chol is slightly high aggghhhh. :(
Interview next week :exit

If his BMI is below 35 and waist less than 105 then they don't do a chol test. So breathe in and stretch on that height measuring thingy like I did.
Waiting for the medical results was a bit of a nightmare.

Have everything they could possibly want ready and hand it in in person so that they can check through it with you and you can sort out anything immediately. Provide absolutely everything. Even go to the extent of putting it in clear leaf files in the order in which it comes up in the application forms. Make it ridiculously easy to assess, so that the CO can make their own performance figures look good by chalking your application up quickly and easily.
Our application took 10 days.

I was under the impression that putting your documents in clear leaf files was frowned upon, sure it said somewhere that they did not like having to take the documents out of the clear leaf files.
Agree to make it as simple as possible e.g. have the covering letter list all the documents and what they have been provided for e.g. evidence of partnership etc.

I'm sure (but it was a long time ago!) they do state on the ITA letter NOT to put things in clear files.
I just put everything in the order of the ITA, with an A4 page between each 'bit' explaining what information we were supplying for that section and its relevance.
eg I enclose bank statements from ...... to ...... to prove our living together, along with .................
Just keep it brief and to the point, they don't want to have to read through too much stuff and they will contact you stright away if they want exta evidence or any point clarifying.
You can see from my 'sig' what a fast turn around we had, but it was also probably due to the fact we had a job offer!

I hadn't read that about the clear files, I'd better stop recommending it, then.
