Hi,
My employer is looking for a .Net developer for a permanent role in Wellington central.
The skillset he's looking for is:
Essentials:
ASP .Net 2.0 - C#
ADO .Net 2.0
Microsoft T-SQL
Microsoft SQL reporting
Web Services
Ajax (some experience will do)
Nice to have's:
.Net 3 framework (Windows Workflow Foundation
Windows communication Foundation
Telerik Controls
CVS (Source control)
NAnt (Automated builds)
NUit (unit testing)
I'm not a techie so don't ask me to explain what it all means!:exit
I can tell you though that it's a nice smallish (currently around 40 people) non IT company to work for, I've been here 3 years as a business analyst so I can give more info on the systems if neccesary.
He's not looking for a junior or someone too senior (as in experience, not age!;) ) and of course he would like you to start as soon as possible, but will consider you if you are well on the way in the immigration process and are just waiting for a job offer to get you here.
PM me if you're interested

Sorry to piggy back on your post :-)
But, if you have permanent residence, in the Waikato, and are savvy with .Net3 and C#, please do drop me a PM.

Maybe the guy that had his story in the newspaper today can help you out?
I do not know about his skills, but he doesn't seem to be able to find a job in IT - page C6

I had a look at that story, too bad he doesn't have the right skills for us. I also thought he left it a little late to get his story out there, apparently he's on a plane today!

Hi Moorf,
I'll ask but I doubt it. I assume this is Woz you're asking for?

Yes it is - he's an experienced telecommuter and would like to go back to working from home soon. Would be great if you could ask.

Well I asked but no go I'm afraid. They really would like someone to be in the office so that they can communicate directly with the Ba's and testers.
Too bad, but I'll keep him in mind when/if the team is bigger and we could use someone like that.

I am curious, why did this person not find work in IT? Did he have skills that are not at all in demand? Is this story in on-line newspapers as well? Cheers

From what I can gather, he has quite a specialized skill set. Here's a link:

BTW in this job you are expected to work a normal 40 hour week, not crazy hours!
We are still looking for someone so don't be shy!
