How much are electric blankets in NZ?

Coming from the Philippines, we are not used to the cold weather. :no

A friend in NZ suggested that we buy electric blankets when we get there (in Feb) as its cheaper during the summer time. I was quoted $400 for a queen size one. Is it really that expensive? And they say that's cheaper than during winter?

Electric blankets are not being sold in the Philippines so as much as I wanted to buy here (it may be cheaper), its not available.
