Clare and I popped up to Hanmer Springs today to celebrate our first anniversary and wow what a stunning drive to get there first of all and what a fantastic place once we arrived .
We had a yummy lunch then to work it off did a forest walk of about 80 mins before heading to the thermal pools.
Very reasonably priced and fantastic experience but both agreed it would be awesomer ( if thats allowed ) to do it in mid winter late in the afternoon just as it was getting dark so you could see the steam rising against the snow topped mountains.
Rounded our visit off with a super ice creram from The Pickled Pig and time it right that we were allowed to lick out the empty Boysenberry tub, YUM.
Also we were lost for words at some of the scenery on the way back, boy do we love this place :nice1

PS had excellent belt stretching meal at The 3 Cows , Kaiapoi
