Hello all,
I arrived in NewZealand just over a year ago on a 30 month WTR visa. I have now applied for residecy through the skilled migrant category as i didnt want the uncertainty of having to wait another year and half before I could settle down. I submitted my ITA 6 weeks ago to the wellington office and have yet to recieve any response from them. My online status is application recieved and "Pending". Has anybody got any Idea how long I can expect to wait before I hear from them? eg assigning a case officer.
I would have thought It would be fairly straight forward to process my application as Im already here and working.
Any advice would be grately appriciated

You may have a while longer to wait yet?

When we submitted ours to Wellington and it was taking some time, we phoned and were told that it can take 6 months from when you submitted your ITA.

From what I can tell, they don't rush because you are already in NZ and there is no need for them to process quickly (from their perspective of course).

I know of others who took 6 months from submitting EOI, but others have done it in 2 months.

In our case, we couldn't wait the 6 months so went in to see them and they processed our application the next day. So if you need it sooner then it might be worth getting in touch.

We submitted our ITA to Welly the beginning of Oct. We received a confirmation letter dated 12 Nov. & that a CO would be assigned to us within the next 8 weeks. OH is currently working in NZ since July & on a 2 yr WP. I was going to give the 2months & then make a respectful ( okay "crawly") type enquiry. Hope this helps.

We did the same thing a couple of months ago (in Auckland), and the whole process took only 2 months.

I got my ITA in about 4.5 weeks after I was on choosen from the EOI pool. They might be having difficulties validating some of the information that's all. Hey, I am in same exact situation as you are... good luck my friend!
