Hubbie will be arriving end December :raebanana and will be located in Auckland - any sugestions as to accomodation until he can find us a house?:D

What is the budget like?

There is everything from Serviced Apartments (expensive, but very convenient) to backpackers (basic, shared bathrooms/kitchen...but you can get own room in some) in Auckland.

I would reccomend staying close to where you are planning on house hunting as it is easier to get to know the area....what areas is OH looking or working?

Hi - budget is about 400 - 450 per week, OH will be working so hunting will only happen on weekends - this could be a problem.

But right now I need to find him a B&B or reasonably priced hotel until he gets sorted.
OH will be working in Flatbush..

go for the hostel option, look on www.bbh.co.nz and you will find that a private room will cost in the region of $50 to $60 a night with shared kitchen and bathroom. look for one of the ones ouside the centre. the other benefit is you are not isolated as there are people about to talk to but if you have a private room its easy to escape them.

I am not just saying that cos we run a backpackers,we are in Christchurch. they are truely worth haveing a look at, the standard of some is better than a cheap motel. PM me if you want any further info.
