We're going to be in London this friday and hoping to get to the london branch to see if we can get any of our questions answered.

Do you need to make an appointment to see someone?

I think you just walk in. Could you ask where our case officer is while you're there??!!

Hi Janmommy,

lockstock is quite right you just walk in take a number and wait to be called.

When we went we got there about 10am and were seen within 20 mins, they were very efficient. There was 3 "booths" and 2 were dealing with PR issues and the other with WTR visas.

Good luck

I'd heard that if you submit your work visa application in person, they process it while you wait, but when I mailed NZIS to confirm this, I was told it has a 2-week processing time.

Has anyone had it processed same day?

Thanks,
Jane

we got sent the wrong direction but finally found the place. had to wait about 10 minutes for a five minute chat that wasn't that helpful.

I visited NZ House London yesterday - oh you lucky people who only had to wait 10 minutes, I had to wait an hour but it was lunchtime and there was only 2 people working the desks and it seemed that everybody was waiting to see the same guy as me!

Here's what I learned regarding work visas;
Currently it takes 2-4 weeks to process them.
The forms are changing in a month's time so I was advised to get mine in before then. (I'm thinking this may be a wise idea because the changeover is bound to cause someone somewhere some confusion).

As an aside - I noticed that a fair few members of the male staff were sporting some very extravagant and outlandish moustaches - I'm curious to see if they still have them on my next visit or if this was a Movember thing :laugh
