I'm not sure if it's the point value or NZIS working through holiday, but I received my decision successful. Nothing better than a nice adrenaline jolt to start the morning.

Selected: 11 Nov 04
Successful: 17 Jan 05
Points: 140 (job in LTSS category)

Items in my favour:
- Wife and I 20-29
- Wife and I both have BS degrees from "approved" institutions
- I have greater than 8 years experience in LTSS positions (IT related)

CloudBoy,
Congrats! :clap
You and your wife must be very excited!

Have you had an interview with NZIS since you don't have a job offer? Or does that come later in the process?

Also, have you gone to NZ looking for a job or were you waiting for the ITA? I'm trying to decide if I should go before I get ITA or wait. Not sure if it would make a difference to potential employers.

Again, congrats! :cheers

I haven't been to NZ yet and will just "wing it". I have been in contact with a few recruiters and have taken the tact of outright saying that I am not in-country but would like them to review my CV to see if I'm employable when I do show up. I have had nothing but positive feedback so far, so I am planning on selling my worldly possessions and settling in Welly (but not before my stock options vest...).

Right now I'm at the:
- Waiting for my FBI criminal check to come back
- Waiting for my ITA package
- Waiting to do my medical (can go to any doctor in the US)
- Waiting to turn everything in to London House

Once that is all complete, I expect the 2-3am phone call (8 hours difference after all) for the interview.
