Just checked NZIS website for status of ITA - still 'pending'. However did notice that at the section on medicals our's has changed from 'medical certificate' to 'full medical' and the date had changed too. Does this mean they have passed the medical?? If so what's taking them so long with the rest of it
Sorry getting anxious cos we have to be in NZ middle of January
Any ideas?

Hi peebles,
Our medical status changed to full medical only when it was all in the final stages of going through, and had been dealt with. The status Decision Pending only changed after payment of the migrant levy. - so it does sound as though things are happening for you!
Good luck

Hi Peebles,
just scanning this thread and skidded to a halt when I saw that you had checked your ITA online, in particular the medical stuff, on the NZIS website?.....ok....I give in...I've turned that website upside down and concluded that either a) its a different website or b) I lost a few more marbles. Can you post the link for me please?
We too are waiting for the medical thumbs up to come back so we can get there to start my job in New Plymouth on the 7th Jan!!!!!
Off for a lie down.........

Hi Grasshopper,
I Can't post the link, but if you submitted you EOI on line, and log into the NZIS website, it tells you there what is happening. I'm afraid that I am not sure if you can so this or not if you didn't submit the EOI on line.... :uhoh

Hey Grasshopper
What Hels said basically. We submitted EOI online and then set up what I think they call 'suitcase' and have to set yourself up with account on NZIS so you can check progress of your application. Just to clarify we didn't have any medical queries as such I just wanted to check what the change in medical status meant. I'll try and find the page a post link if I can??
Sorry am waffling :D Hope some of this helps

Bless that's a lot of lying down :)
I've gone and had a look at our one and we have the details of EOI, next the visa status pending (date lodged etc) then below that information about medical certificate.
Had a look at you signature and with job offer and that many points shouldn't it be processed by now??
Should really update our signature but we had 220 points (with job offer) and ITA lodged 18/10/07 - letter from case officer said would be processed within 1-3 months.
What's your case officer saying about it all?

Hi Karen,
We "fell" at the medical hurdle and had to re-submit upto date reports on OH's condition and prove we will not be a burden etc etc on NZ's health service. Still waiting for the results to come back hence my apparent insane interest in the "medical" bit. Everthing else is fine but time is a ticking and NZ employer has already moved back start date twice to last one of 07/01/08!!..
Case Officer (UK) just shrugs and says she'll let us know when she knows something back from the medical assessor!...Grrrrrrr!
Still can't see any medical stuff in/on/under our online suitcase...thanks for help and chance to scream at just more than electrons and faceless CO's :D

I think I have read somewhere on here folks speaking directly to medical assessor but could have dreamt it?? I'm sure it'll all work out for you in plenty of time :)
Good luck

Find Out More...
Once you've signed in under the "What's happening" bit you should see similar to the above at the right hand side of the page.
If you click on "find out more" then it will open a new window and you should be able to see the medical stuff in there.
Interestingly enough ours has always said "Full medical" ???

Will someone tell me what's going on here! I applied on-line but I haven't seen anything about medicals in or out of a suitcase. All it says on my page is application received. Not a case officer in sight even though e-mail enquiries say that I do now have one.

Hi Karen and Joy,
As far as I know this is not possible. We were told (both by Visa Officer and our Emigration Consultants) that even the Case/Visa Officers cannot get into direct contact with the Medical Assessors ! It's all extremely formal and frustrating, both for you and for the Case/Visa Officer handling your case.
I do find it strange though that they won't give you an estimate as to how long it might take ? We went through a very long and arduous medical process (no job offer though) and had to wait for Medical Assessors decision no less than three times (!) in all.
However we were told each time how long, at most, it would take for the decision to be made. Mostly they were right in the timings and having them did help us, although it still remained an extremely stressful process (especially being the 'cause' of the problems, if you know what I mean :no) !
Joy, having been there and done that, I can really sympathise and wish you the best of luck and much Zen patience ;). Will keep fingers and toes crossed that you have positive news very soon (perhaps when you find the info under 'Find out more' :laugh ? Wow, wouldn't that be terrific :clap ?!) !!

Myrkk - followed and found the relevant bits on the NZIS website but found no mention of "medical" anything in any pop-up boxes. Thanks for help
Lockstock - and I thought it was just me!? :D
Sliverwing - our CO just sighs and sounds as down and frustrated as we are. Mind you we have stopped ringing daily now!:laugh I guess we will just have to wait....
BUT...if there is info out there that some peeps can seemingly access that others cant on the website.....anyone else a tad concerned if they have current "medical" issues awaiting judgement??

When I checked our account on NZIS early yesterday (after seeing this thread) it was the same - no mention of Medical Certificates at all. But late yesterday afternoon it changed - now it has "Full Medical / 21 Nov 2007 / Received". I have no idea what this actually means! Our 'Immigration Applications' shows:
Visa/Permit: Visa
Type: Residence
Decision: Pending
Application Number: xxxxxxxx
Lodgement Date: 15 Nov 2007

Just checked my online status and it has now changed to full medical recieved also! (wonder does it mean medical is ok as I was a bit worried about it)Hope this is a good sign as I still dont know if ive been allocated a case officer yet or not. The last i heard was late last week when I recieved a letter stating that I would be allocated one within the next 8 weeks. Hope it doesnt take much longer as I really need my residency sorted as soon as possible to allow me to get a morgage here in newzealand(all the banks have refused me as I need to borrow more than 80%). And with the recent rise in the cost of all the applications Im now even more out of pocket:( .
Best of luck everyone in your applications hopefully we will all have some good news soon:yes

MaxG, Dunbar has one of the best chippies in Scotland. We used to go for a run in the evening down to Dunbar get some chips and sit by the sea front..... lush.
No point in this comment really, just felt like sharing.

Nothing like everyone with a different version to send you into a flat-spin panic is there? If we were waiting in the queue at Tesco's I'd have put down my basket and walked off by now.

It's the waiting that's the hardest part. We've been hanging on since we submitted the ITA after a medical issue was flagged up. We can't see why it should take so long - espcially as we went out of our way to get all the documents down to London ASAP, including supportive information from a hospital consultant. What's the record for hanging around for a decision? We want to know as we want to get over in January to take advantage of the school holiday to find a place to live/school etc.

Hey lockstock
I'd have thrown the dummy out the pram a while ago :D
Waiting bit is a killer, much harder I think than having to fill out all the application, go through medicals etc. We were very lucky with the job offer and that significantly speeded things up but this is part of me that thinks if you've got the skills there should be a first come first serve option...
Best of luck to folks

On the online status does anybody know for sure if when it says "Full medical" "Recieved" that you have actually passed the medical? My status changed last week but I still havent had any contact from a case officer.
